How to Remove Tree Sap From Trailer?

My neighbor's mesquite tree has leaked onto my trailer. The sap runs down the back corner, including onto the painted stripes. What can I use to remove ths? I tried my usual grease and wax remover and it won't touch it. Grrrrrr......

Dawn dish washing liquid, some ammonia and hot water.

I used to have to clean it off the bus all the time. This works well for bugs on the windshield too.

It can be hard on the wax, so keep an eye on it.

Plastic razor and wipe with Turpentine. Use a blow drier to warm it up first. Wash and wax after.

Oh, I wish I could get rid of that tree. About 10 years ago, my father demanded that they cut the branches that were growing over our roof, and they did. I keep thinking about doing an accidental spill of diesel by it late at night.

Can you do anything legally based on the branches being on your side again? Take it to "Judge Judy"......?

They're not close to the house now, and I got no argument from them about storing my trailer there, so no, I won't do anything for now. If they endangered the house again, then I would.

Hmmmmm.....is your trailer not supposed to be there? Maybe you need to cover the area of the trailer so you avoid the sap.

Oh, it's perfectly legal to be there, but if a neighbor wants to complain about something, it can be a real pain. My trailer sits on the driveway I had poured, which goes almost to the property line. My trailer is overhanging the line a bit right now (a huge inch!). There is no HOA in my neighborhood, but I'd rather have my neighbors happy with my activities than calling the cops every time I fire up the compressor.

I've been trying to figure out a way I could cover that corner, but I don't know what I can do. The wind whips through there and it probably would blow anything off. I guess once it get it cleaned off, I'll put a lot of extra wax on that area and hope for the best.

Find a copper nail/spike and drive it deep into the trunk. The neighbors will have to chop it down in a few months. It will slowly turn brown and just become firewood.

I wish I could, but it's behind their concrete block wall. I can't get to it in a place that wouldn't be obvious.

Put it in one of the branches that is on your side. That part will die.

Oh, BTW if a branch hangs over the property line it is yours to do what ever you want to. So, you can cut it down.

We had one in Brawley that was on the neighbor's side of the fence, it grew big enough to encroach on my easement and became infested with roaches, so I bought a chain saw and cut it down. The neighbor asked me why I was doing it and I asked them if they would like me to point out to the health department the 3" to 4" long roaches breeding in there!

They said it was OK, then they tore down the entire house and all the trees and built a new house. Some people need just a small nudge.
