I got carded for some BEER - I just turned 50

I haven't been carded in years. We walked into the local store to pick up some supplies for the cabin we rented while on vacation and the gal ( Amy ) asked me for my ID. At first I thought she was kidding but she wasn't. The store has a rule to card anyone who looks 30 or under. When I told Amy I had just turned 50, she didn't believe me. After she saw my ID she said, wow, you don't look that old.

Well for someone who colors their hair 3 times a week, I'd agree with her that you don't look that old.

Last time Ermalyn and I went out for lunch she noticed the menu had a 55 age on the senior part. She said " hey Dad look, in 5 years you can get something off the senior menu " . I was feeling pretty old after that.
 
She was obviously hitting on you. Whenever I get carded I ask 'Why, is there a maximum age?'

Whenever I get carded (rarely...VERY rarely!), I usually thank them! Question is now, have you started getting AARP stuff in the mail yet? hehehe

BTW, my wife's been giving me a TON of grief since I turned 50. She's been receiving AARP stuff for the past several years though and is still in her 40's. Revenge is sweet! :thu
 
Carded? Hell, if I go into McDonalds for a cup of coffee they automatically give me the senior discount and I JUST turned 50! :wtf
 
Well geez BP, you smell so damn old...no wonder you get free goodies. They are just hoping you will be happy with your coffee and leave...pronto!
 
It sure made for a fun time on our trip. We've been back to the store several times hoping it'll happen again.


I get the AARP stuff at home. I just toss it in the recycle. I don't feel old yet.
 
When I worked in a grocery srore in h.s. and college, I'd card the hotties just to see their age, it also made them feel young.
