I got lost down the rabbit hole...

I've sorta fallen off the face of the earth here lately and I'm starting to wonder what I missed. :craz :lol

I got done with school for the year on the 9th, then spent the rest of the week doing whatever I could to avoid my crazy sister-in-law who seemed to show up at the house every freaking day, including a 200 mile trip to WV for a couple cases of Yuengling...man that's good stuff! :nk

Then, this monday, the transmission for the 5.0 Mustang from Hades showed up. Guy that owns it has the week off, so that's what I've been doing from dawn to dusk.

Found out that the bellhousing on the 5.0 was busted so we took it to the local Ford gooroo to get it welded up and I about shat myself when I walked in and saw Stangfixer d_ford's awesome fastback in the shop. Talk about unexpected...I figured I'd see it at a car show or something. I got to drool over it for a couple of minutes and it really is as awesome as it looks. The 427 under the hood ain't too shabby either, the intake was off, so I got a good look at the innards, and I swear, you could hide a baby in those intake ports. :lol :weas :weas

Yeah, I know, no pics....left my cell phone at home yesterday...oops. :pbj

Except for the rest of the 5.0 Mustang saga and the 9000 pictures that will end up in the build thread, that sums up what I've been doing. Hopefully I'll have time to participate 'round here over the summer.

What's up wit chu guise? And PS, congrats to Jake on the little one!!

Thanks for the kind words about the fastback. As it turned out, the NEW cam that was installed last year now has three wiped lobes. I've been doing a lot of lurking on the FE forums and apparently this has been pretty common for solid flat tappet cams lately. I think the camshaft companies are getting their slugs from overseas and the steel is inferior. The cam break-in was done correctly, I've run oil with ZDDP additive and this still happened with less that 100 miles on it. He's looking into a solid roller cam for it now so hopefully I'll finally get to drive this thing like it should be driven. I can't wait to get it back.
Oh by the way Kyle, welcome back to the Fix.
