I got wood!

Well, technically its a fiberboard.... I sweet talked Jake into making me a center console for my car. It arrived yesterday. Snapped some pictures of it in the car. Very impressive work on Jakes part. It fits the car very well. Now I have to get off my butt and finish it.

You can kind of see in the last picture that its pretty snug between the seats, I think its because I'm using the TMI "Sport' foams which add quite a bit of side bolster. I think I should be able to sand down the side portions between the seats to gain a little breathing room. Jake also made the top pieces, he did not cut the shifter opening since his test vehicle is an auto. He also sent me a couple cup holders!

Thanks again Jake. Checks in the mail...

Saw the title and thought I was going to have to save you again by moving it to the VGOFL!

Pretty cool stuff Jake, not bad woodworking skilzs for a plumber :coo

Glad to see that's the type of wood you were talking about! :lol

Looks good, can't wait to see the finished product!

Awesome Rick, Glad it fits well. Wish i would have known about the side bolsters, i could have made the Glove box a little Slimmer for ya. I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like! :)

naw the best place for good sewing work is the nursing homes them old ladies have awesome sewing skills. and while you getting work done you get to listen to old guys telling you random stories

First it the console, and when you need to replace a fender you'll end up with:

you must frequent the nursing home! This is very true. I visit every Sunday and some of these people don't remember who I am week to week but they light up when you sit and talk with them!

I hope he used Orkin on the woody!

Had a 70's Ford Courier p/u in the mid 80's that I removed the rotted out bed and replaced with a HD WOOD bed! It worked great and it was easy to tie /screw stuff down. Not sure if I have any pics of it though.

I've seen this unit in person. It's showed up at the local cruise a couple times. As a matter of fact, he's probably on his way there.

He's on 59 just under the 610 loop headed south. About 6 miles from the cruise.

You best be a little more specific or you might get pics you'll regret!
