But really?

One thing is certain...it's a niche no one else has.

My step brother years ago got laid off from the oil field. He was thinking of staring a business because he was sick of his personal finances being in the hands of others. He said he opened the yellow pages and there were a zillion lawn services and almost as many pool services. Growing up his step dad ran an A/C business so he could have gone into the air business but again there are a ton of competitors in that market and it would be difficult for a sole / start up guy to get going. However, no one was doing residential window washing. Windows is a pretty low budget investment to get going in so he started a company as much because there was no competition as much as anything else, he had found a niche.

15 years later, he's doing well at it and has branched out into pressure washing services and solar screens. He has several guys that work for him and his wife sold out her interest in a different business to her business partner and now runs his office for him while he's in the field on calls all day.
