I had some good luck tonight

I went to the store tonight. Got to the cashier, paid, got my change, and just for an instant before the till closed I spotted a silver Walking Liberty half dollar on the top of a PILE of half dollars. As the till closed, I meekly asked the cashier "can I buy those half dollars"? I was fully expecting "no, I'm buying those myself" or "why, are they valuable"? Instead, she said "sure". I pulled a twenty out of my wallet and waited while she counted them. She got to $20 and there were more left. I said "I'll buy the rest" and pulled more $ out of my wallet. They weren't all silver, but this is what I ended up with out of $23 worth of half dollars:

$8 face value of silver halves currently have $207.64 worth of silver. :yah

Some kid somewhere is eating some very expensive candy would be my guess. Wait until dad finds out those coins went missing!

I found a penny once.

Seriously. I also while working in a gas station saw a silver certificate in the till n bought it. It's still worth a dollar! Nice find.

Nice score Frank. :yah Mom worked in a bank while I was growing up. She scored a lot of old coins and paper currency. :bowdown

Actually, as a kid I always wanted to be a bank teller for just that reason.

I don't get it, I thought getting lucky at night was something different :thu

Nice find though.

i,ve been married for 10 yrs. getting lucky at night means being able to go to sleep & not have to get up 3 times during the night to pee...

Nice score. My wife works at a bank and is always on the lookout for stuff like that.
