We had quite a time in Georgia and Alabama, got in on wed aft, loaded trailer thurs morn and drove 2 1/2 hours to green valley racetrack, unloaded stuff, got the car out on the track and blew the engine on the 5th lap, we got there on fri morn and pulled out the old engine and put together the spare made a few hot laps, got 2nd in the heat race saturday night, the engine was smaller than the one that blew, (355? versus 372?) so we were short on hp but the driver is pretty good, the car started 9th in the 75 lap feature and blew a steering line on about lap 38, he was in 8th at the time,I never had a clue how much went into racing even at this level and it is very $$$. We worked pretty hard and never got to the motel much before 2 a.m. any night. I am asking sluggo on help posting some pics I sent him, I am in the one with the driver, I am of course the old man with the camo hat on with the young driver in a black t-shirt, the car is the # 5, and the guy in the blue suit is the owner along side his brother whom I went down there with. I learned a lot about the sport and I don't think it is for me on that end, I'll stick to watching from the stands or tv. I had a bad cold before I left and finally went to a quick care center when we got back to atlanta and found out I had double pneumonia, I am taking it pretty easy for now. I hope someone took up the slack with some lame jokes!!!

Good 'OLE Southern short track dirt racing. One of my favorite things. Wish I could have been there Rod. It looks like ya'll had decent weather judging by the blue skies.

Thursday and friday it got cold fast when the sun went down, 25 or so one night, saturday and sunday was very nice--near 60, those fellows eat, drink and sleep dirt track racing down there!---the purse to win the 75 lap feature super class was $10,000.
