i need a computer guru!

at start up of my desktop computer, i get about a dozen pop up messages with different missing .dll files. Is there anything besides a format that can be done? I really dont feel like backing up everything and going through that unless i have to. Thanks.
 
Reboot the pc, tap the f8 key BEFORE you get the windows splash screen(windows logo), select safe mode. If you can get into there, you could try a restore point from an earlier date.
 
That'll teach you to stop visiting the porn sites so often!

i didnt try to boot in safe mode yet, but i was able to get a screen shot. This desktop takes a while to load, and theres the popups, so i tend to use my laptop.

milgda is a virus, as is vtuuv. I wouldn't be surprised if they are all viruses.

You'll need to do a clean sweep of your computer.
 
Yeah that's what I figured. You'll need to clean it. best to clean it from safe mode, else the viruses are able to survive the attack. I had one so bad a few months back that I ended up buying a new hard-drive and starting fresh. I kept the old harddrive so I could get the files I needed off of it (Being VERY careful as I copied files over, of course.)
 
Just curious, but what is the most common way to get these. I mean in all seriousness, i come to this place and craigslist, and my wife does the facebook stuff and skype with family around the world. we dont open un known email, so how does this happen.
