I need a new jack

Changing my oil today my jack is jacked! I may just be able to add fluid but I don't like it. This is my second Crafstman jack in eight years and both have lost their lift. Not looking to fix it but I am looking for a good suggestion on my next one.

Any recommendations? Weight is not a huge factor but, meaning I don't need aluminum but might consider it. Safety is my number one concern.

i'll listen in on this too. the last three I've bought have been crap. work good at the start, but within a year aren't worth a crap.

Man, I had a car almost fall on me with a craftsman jack. I picked one up at napa and haven't been happier. It's the best jack I've ever purchased. I'll look for the thread I did on it.

The NAPA jacks look like a Hein Werner unit, just relabeled. If so, they are top quality jacks and are rebuildable too!

BTW, Hein Werner jacks were also sold as Lincoln. I've had a 2 ton for almost 20 years now and it's been pretty darn reliable.

Justin,
I have a few jacks in case you need one, including JohnPro's. I also have hydraulic fluid if you need that.

I recently bought one at Costco. Love it!!! It's great for lowered cars and cost $100.00. They still had them when I was there a few days ago.

Lost my 30 year old Craftsman jack a few days ago also. Seal went I guess and the car came down and smashed the fuel tank. I bought it like 30 years ago and it's been a good one so I can't complain. Lifted the Deuce and a half rear wheels when the other would not and that thing weighed like 14000 lbs. Course that man have been the straw that broke the camels back. I noticed NAPA had a couple jacks on sale for like 199.00 and Oreilly had one for like 160.00. Not sure about the quality but I feel NAPA has always sold pretty good stuff.

My Craftsman jack is about 20 years old. They must have built them a little better back then. God I'm getting old!

a lot of old craftsman jacks are quality stuff and repairable. Im pretty sure the craftsman blackhawk series is very desirable. they are like a greenish color.

I bought the 2 ton aluminum jack from JEGS to replace my 3 ton Craftsman. Very happy with it so far. Low profile, light and lifts in half the pumps of the old Craftsman.

Since we are on the subject of floor jacks, I have both an aluminum Craftsman and a Costco unit. The Craftsman is now completely unusable and the Costco is not far behind. Does anyone know a source for parts for rebuilding them? Sears said they do NOT support the Craftsman and suggested buying a new one, that will never happen again! There has to be a source for parts, I'm sure it's just seals, they are not that complicated! Anyone? Thanks

I have my Dads old 2T Hein Werner, must be close to 50 yo... just started to slow leak last year. I found a rebuild kit but haven't put it in yet. I did find a 1t HW at a tag sale last year and picked it up for $20 :thum
