I need a new printer

Nothing is wrong with the current printer and I will continue to use it. It is just the new printers will work with smartarse phones and tablets. Wifey wants to go back to school to earn her masters. That will involve some online classes and she will need to print from her tablet. My dilemma is that I want a good photo printer, but I would like to keep the cost around 100 bucks. Is there such a thing as a good photo printer for around a C note?

Need to add, I printed a pic on std paper and it looked great. Since printing pics on picture paper is sooo 20th Century...I never do that anymore.

Tim,

I wouldn't spend the extra coin on a printer to get something that does a better job at printing photos simply because printing pics at home is the absolute most costly thing you can ever do. There are so many other options to get hard copies of pictures that are incredibly cheaper. You can download your pics to an online service and have them printed for you for pennies on the dollar compared to doing it at home. Around here I use Walgreens and can get same day service even!

I had a good Epson but had a separate scanner. Scanner took a dump. About that time Epson sent me an email ad for a remanufactured XP-800 factory direct for like $48. Flatbed scanner, multiple sheetfeed scans, double sided even. Wifi. Print from phone, tablet, etc. also can print double sided. Claria ink, which I really like for durability. The kicker is that it prints on printable CD/DVD's. Does nice photos too. At $48 I couldn't help but take a shot. About a year later I do NOT regret it. Ink prices suck, but which ones don't? It has a regular black and a "photo" black. When one runs low it asks if you want to temporarily substitute the other. Which is nice. Versus my old printer when one ink color ran out it wouldn't do squat.

What is scary about that mug shot is that I was born in Somerset. More than likely not the same one that I am from. :p
Back to the printer. 2 recommendations for the HP 8620. My Local Costco has the 8625 for 135. That just might work. Thanks for the help.
