i need an oil pan any ideas besides a canton

If you're just looking to carry more oil, that pan will be fine. Don't think, though, that you'll be buying a cheap Canton equivalent, as you won't be.
 
ya im not planning to do anything special with the car it will be mainly street driven 97% of the time
 
If you will not be racing it, what good will a higher capacity pan do, other than cool bling?

(not that I'm against cool bling)

Just because it's not on a track doesn't mean you can't corner hard;)

I don't see much in the way of baffling, with that pan. Cornering hard with that pan will not be the same as cornering hard with a Canton pan, with all the baffles they have. I do see one top baffle, but that's about it. There may be some more that aren't visible in the picture, but the same view of a Canton pan would definitely show the difference in what you're buying.

Personally, I'd pay the couple hundred extra for the Canton. It's something you only have to buy one time, and you have it forever. It won't wear out, even when your engine does.

Sorry, wasn't trying to be a smart ass (I know, hard to believe), cornering hard on the street is not the same as on track, I used to think that till I started open tracking. Without baffles to keep the oil at the pickup, it's just a bigger pan into which you have to pour twice as much oil!
 
Well, on one hand, you're right, the baffling isn't incredible. But on the other, you're not usually pulling the kinds of lateral G-forces on the street that you will on a track. Even my idea of hard cornering isn't close to what you're doing with sticky tires on a long, sweeping turn on the track. The tapered sides should keep the oil mostly in place while cornering and the rear baffle will keep it from sloshing to the back of the pan while accelerating. I also think it wouldn't hurt to have more oil if you're spinning high rpm's.
