been thinking about this for a long while, but never got around to it. i want to paint the blasted sections in my wheel centers & figure while the front suspension & brakes are apart, now is the time. first, i think if i darken them up a bit, it will look more mike an updated magnum 500. here's what they look like now, centers glass beaded & VERY hard ( read- impossible) to keep clean:

here is a pic craig was gracious enough to get for me of a painted set on the power tour last year:

those are a little too bronze in tint for me with a blue car, so i'm thinking about mixing up a little dark silver & start tinting it with black until i get a shade i like. not sure if i would like solid black or not. any ideas??

Just my opinion, but I think painting them black would give the illusion of thin spokes. Not too sure if that would look good or a bit ricer.

PhotoShop anyone?

Same thoughts here. looks too modern then.
If you want to paint them , do it just in silver or very light gray.I like the current rims !!!

What about a dark gray, almost black on the larger flat parts. Then on the side of the spokes a lighter gray then leave the spokes a chrome. :confu

I think an anthracite would be cool, but then I am partial....

thats what i'm kinda leaning towards. something with a light flake in it. i'm gonna play around today with some old colors & see what i come up with.

Nothing wrong with bronze on blue! I did these Legacy wheels with rattle can bronze wheel paint from Autozone. This was with a reddish primer, which helped hide the scratches made when the tires were mounted... :rant

Oh yeah, that's painter's tape. I wanted to see what it would look like with fender stripes.
