Got a sneak at this vehicle this past weekend.

Anyone care to identify the model?

Ponyman66 has hit this on the head.

I saw this while I was in San Diego area last weekend. It was from Mexico. They started producing them in 2009 I believe and have already sold over 50,000 of them.

The truck really did not look bad and I thought it was neat. I wonder why VW isn't bringing them into the US.

Because the US is gay and anti diesel. :rulz There are a lot of sweet diesel cars made, that the US won't allow to be imported.

Feel free to move elsewhere if you dislike it here or try to get changes made to allow them. You do have options. I'd abstain from calling our country names though as it won't earn you too much sympathy to your position. :no

Regarding Diesel engines : Here in Belgium , most cars have diesel engines.
What I love about diesel engines is its torque at low rpm's.

Give me a big cid diesel engine and you can only see my tailpipes at 1/8 or 1/4 strip

wow, talk about getting your panties in a bunch. I don't have a problem with our country, its more a problem with the people making decisions regarding what we are allowed to have here. This country is so good at making it look like the are trying to cut back on oil usage, now its about time they actually show it.

I like VW's and in fact some are pretty good looking. This thing however is not to my liking.
I visit Brazil a lot and they have some pretty cool Diesel trucks like a short bed standard two door F250 Diesel and a Ranger four door Diesel that you can't get in the US. I would love to have either or both of those!

There's a diesel version of my truck GMC Canyon made it India. I'd love to have that thing. It gets 40+ miles to the gallon in a 4-door 4wd version.
