Finally got some semblence of internet at the new house here in Elk Grove (Sacramento) after being moved in for a week. Now I can try to catch up on forum antics:D

If any of the California SF'ers are headed through the valley, be sure to look me up!
 
lol. Del, I grew up in Stockton:p Craig, I'm only really 15min closer to you, heheh.

We moved up here for education/housing reasons. My gf got into UC Davis, and at the same time we ran into a unique opportunity to move into and potentially buy a nice house in Elk Grove for a pretty fair price. Can't say no to either, and my job transferred me with no real questions besides 'when can you start?' We love SLO, but it's too expensive to live there, let alone live there and put someone through school. If we get this house (3 bed, 2 bath, garage, etc), we'll be paying the same for mortgage + insurance as we were down there for rent on two rooms of a crappy 3 bedroom condo in a crappy neighborhood, and we'll have picked up a bit of equity in the deal. If it doesn't pan out, we'll still have saved a boatload for a down payment on a house.
 
Wow Tad that soundds great. Hope it works out. Now it seems a new house requires a NorCal poker night.... :roll :roll :roll
 
...that could be arranged;) Need to finish unpacking, though. I still don't have room in the garage for my car.
