Mainly just wanted to let ya'll know I'm still alive! I've been having some problems(human) and had an injection(flouroscopic) this past monday to my neck to hopefully at least decrease my neck/dizziness problem, and then have my lasik eyes put back equal instead of that blended vision(monovision)~ driving me crazy!

Anyway, I've been playing with what I can do! The color scheme I have in mind is to have my black stripes come down my hood, into this area and down my fiberglass bumper onto the valance. So I'd like to paint the entire structure the orange color and the black stripes. The grill is a aluminum billet, but I was almost thinking of painting it orange as well(I could always do that later for the grill), except it'd be difficult to put the black stripes through it. oh, I found out my horns will have to be relocated:(

Anyone have a scheme like this? or any ideas?

I think your plans on stripes are similar to mine. Heres a pic of our brainstorming...

Welcome back!
I really like Ryan's scheme.
Did you say you might paint the grill and do the stripes down it as well?
I've never seen that, but not really digging the thought of it.
But to each their own.

Hoods question

Thanks Ryan(that looks great!), it helps to actually see what I'm thinking! don't worry Joe, I'm not going to paint the grill, you know how ideas pop into out minds! :craz and thank you Midlife!

*are there different types of hoods regarding the front lip moulding? Is there a hood that doesn't come with it? I don't think my hood will look right with the chrome lip moulding with the stripes.

The SS/chrome hood lip moulding attaches via a few screws on the inderside of the hood. Installing it is completely up to you. Some cars look better with it, some without.

Just Paint the trim body color and then add the stripes. The trim rounds out the hood, otherwise it has a flat edge on it and would require some body work to look "normal". IIRC, there is a gap/split in the center of the hood behind the trim.

yeah, the factory steel 67/68 hood would need some work to not use the trim. A lot of FG hoods are made to not use the trim however.

Nice scoop!

Yes Joe, that would be COOL! I remember seeing one that Sluggo installed on a Stang a while back, but after he told me he had 80 hours invested in it, I changed my mind about a scoop! Since then I had seen fiberglass hoods with scoops, but found they have issues too. I have a ways to go, but fun to see the endless possibilities in the restomodding of a stang! As always, I so appreciate everyone's advice and opinions! : )

My hood is steel, with a fiberglass scoop. There are a LOT fewer hours in mine. Its not perfect, but it fits the car the same way it came off the assembly line (probably better, Sluggo is pretty anal about door and hood gaps).
