I am typing one handed from memorial hosp. springfield, il. burn unit.
I went for a wild ride tues down highway in mixer truck with 9 yards concrete on its side 55 mph--got knocked out, woke up and cab was on fire, got out through windshield, 3rd degree burns on right hand--wrist to fingernails on back of the hand---little on face--staples in mid head, sore---thank god for morphine and seatbelts---gross pics and full story later--get out monday maybe.

Holy crap......sounds like a ride for sure. Hang in there and give the nurses a hard time......

Glad you are alive to type.....I hope you have nurses as pretty as mine were and keep pushing that button! They'll give you more if they see a ration of 44 pushes to 10 doses! Hehehehe

Oh my god, I'm glad to hear you're able to do anything after a trip like that. Give us the full story as soon as you are two handed again.

Wow. Glad you lived and can tell about it. Get better and we're pulling for ya.

Holy crap Rod, that looks bad. Sure hope you recover 100%.

I have to tell you though, how many times have we said not to surf the Fix while driving big trucks?

MONMOUTH - A cement truck lost control on Illinois 164 about a half mile east of 155th Street Tuesday and burst in flames.

The driver lost control when the rear wheels of the concrete truck, owned by Builders Supply of Galesburg and driven by Rodney Fleisher of Maquon, ran off the north side of the road onto the shoulder. Fleisher pulled back on the road and the unit rolled over onto the passenger side, sliding down the road and stopping in the south ditch, according to the Warren County Sheriff's department.

Fleisher got out of the unit before it caught fire. Fleisher was taken to St. Marys Hospital in Galesburg
with injuries to his head and hands. Cameron Fire responded to the scene along with Warren County Sheriff's Office personnel.
