It's been way too long since I removed them but are the long trim pieces that you afix the weather stripping to, riveted to the body at each end?

If memory serves me correctly, they used the small thin but wide headed screw.

There is a "special" type screw. Basically as Sluggo said. It's a very low profile philips head with an integral flat washer.
