Installing vent window handles

How do you attach the vent window handle to the channel post? I see they are held in place via those a roll pin, but I guess my question is install them with a hammer and drift before installing the vent window into the vent window frame?

Otherwise if I install the vent window into the frame now I could not easy use a hammer and drift to attach it when the frame is installed into door already.

I think you just answered your own question. Yes, install the handle before you install the glass into the assembly.

Yup, just testing to see if anyone was listening. Why TF are 68 vent handles the most expensive?

1968 handles are unique to that year.

Make sure that the vent window glass/frame is '68 also or else the vent window handles will not function/lock. Used '67/68 vent window assemblies are not interchangable... you can't just install a '68 handle on a '67 frame.... it won't work.
