Is it bad to be happy about schmucks getting their due?

The other day, there were a few alumni visiting, and they shanghaied one poor SOB into giving a presentation to one of my classes. The guy did a darn respectable job for doing it on 5 minutes' notice, and the one thing he REPEATEDLY mentioned is the importance of being able to work well in a group...."no one likes a loner, the group types get farther up the corporate ladder, ect".

The whole class (all 4 of us :rofl ) are doing the ITERA Challenge. The schmucks told me to do my bit and email them to find out what we had to do next. So I emailed them, and haven't heard back in 4 days+. It's no big deal to me, I'll still do well overall and they'll get their justice for being such prats *insert evil laugh*, but it got me wondering if things go this badly in the working world? This has been a running theme in school projects since I can remember, and I get the feeling some of this jackassery wouldn't cut it...

But...I feel a little evil for saying "*** them, they'll get what they deserve" and thinking I'll come out OK no matter what.

What say ye? Should I be more repentant about letting these guys hang out to dry?

HAHHAHAHAHAHAH Stop it! you're killing me.

Yes, jack assery exists everywhere. Smaller companies are better about finding and eliminating it. Every buck counts, and the guy rolling the dole is often more involved in the day-to-day operations. Big companies (and the government) have places where worthless lumps can hide. Well, they don't bother to hide it in the government.

What Steve said......and I'll add; even in small companies you can have a person that works REALLY hard at NOT doing his job, but making it LOOK like he's doing his job!

That one always made me shake my head and laugh, all the way to that employee with a pink slip.

I'd agree with that one. I work for a small company and we have a couple of them that are too busy dragging in late, taking a "snack break" followed by a long lunch, etc.

My favorite part is they finally after about 7 years understand my belief that failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part is one that I live by 100%....basically don't screw around and wait till the last minute to ask for something and expect me to drop what I am doing to get it for you. Tough cookies, you should have asked for it sooner if it is that important.
