Is there a right or wrong way to install the blower motor resistor?

So I have this hole in my heater case (might be why the fan does not work) and have the resistor that I think goes there... Don't see any screws or anything in catalogs to install thought I'd ask is there a right or wrong way to install and after that should my fan work?

They are typically held by a plastic rivet which you can push in to detach. Otherwise one can either metal rivot in place or just use a couple small bolt and nuts. Dont think orientation of it is really critical but I'm sure the female wire connector will help you identify which way it resides.

When using rivets , use aluminium ones. IMO
In order to work the fan properly , you make sure the heater switch panel is grounded well. ( in a 67 anyway )

In installed using rivets yesterday but the fan still will no start/run. I traced from wiring harness and switch using probe and when fan switched <on> get power but now fan. So I guess maybe in addition to resistor I need a new fan. My mustang order is starting to add up fast better sell a watch to keep my wife happy and car funded ;)

Do a bench test of the motot before condemning it. Just need a 12v source.

Two wires coming out is one positive and the other negative or is negative case and these two are some speed variable?

After the current transits from the fuse box to the blower motor, it goes to the resistor pack and then to ground. Thus, the voltage is regulated by the resistor pack which, in turn, controls the speed of the blower motor.

You can easily apply a full 12V just to the blower motor (equivalent to high speed fan setting) and see if it turns.
