JD' Jr's Mustang has a new motor

JD Jr(OpentrackerRacingProduct's son)'s RC car that he gave me a year + ago has a new motor. I bought this donor car recently that had this flashy chromed motor figuring it would be ideal for the RC car that JD Jr gave me. Now his car even has a pop up hood.

The striped donor was found on line at a used toy store back east for a whopping $15+postage. What's cool about these two cars is that JD Jr's car has headlights that light up when the car is going.

The donor car's motor lights up when running, but not the headlights. But I don't know if I want the motor to light up especially since I will probably not run the car with the clear hood. Thus I have not connected the motor's wires as of yet.

Decisions decisions.

Do you have the wiring all done on Shag yet? Just wondering.
 
They are are RC cars. Today I wired up the motor to light up whenever the headlights light up. JeffTepper and KBMWRS came over today to approve. They did.

Yes Dave, Shag is all wired up. Update post tomorrow.
 
No John. Almost all the cars on ebay are of 1:24 scale. Your son's car is 1:16. Much bigger.
 
thanks for the link, I know what to look for now... 1:16 or 1:12 Craig? I see a 1:12 on there but no 1:16
