Hard Swinger
This was a tough week for all of us who were good friends of Johnpro's. The good news is that we had each other and our shared love of the Mustang hobby to help us through.
With Johnpro's memorial scheduled for today, Tuesday, we met on Monday at his house to get Scary all nice and cleaned up for the service:
Lots of heavy-duty drying to get Scary ready for some waxing and detailing...
Here, Pat (camachinist) points out where John DLM (DEL65) missed a spot while waxing...
The team continues to go to town, detailing under the hood and buffing out the wax...
One final detail before finishing up...
Today was a long day with much melancholy and even a few laughs as we remembered our friend. There was a fantastic turnout of Mustangs that teamed up with Scary in the church lot.
If Johnpro were here, we wouldn't be able to get him to tear away from checking out the cars...
Camachinist's 64 1/2 D-code, my '68 coupe, JeffTepper's '67 Fastback, and cmayna's '66 salute Johnpro's '69 sportsroof...
Hopefully, there are more pics from this week's events to share with those who couldn't be there. (Please post if you have them.) The long-distance award goes to Uncle Vinny (Teebone). Other notable long-distance appearances were made by David67 and his wife, Jennifer, Camachinist, opentracker, and 66gt350 and his wife. (I hope I didn't forget anyone.)
As Justin (gtscode) already posted, here's the slideshow of picutres from today's memorial service: http://www.authorstream.com/Presentation/gtscode-466071-johnpro/
:sad
I want to say that I thank you all for coming to visit with me and Sharon after the service. I hope that the chance to have a bit of refreshment and chat was helpful and a part of the overall healing process. I, for one, miss my friend already, and can't get over the fact that I can't just call him up and say hello.
It just doesn't seem fair.
As I said today, there are a million stories about Johnpro. We all have them...tenfold, I bet. I think that a measure of a person could be that the more stories there are, the more impact and involvement that person made in others' lives. I hope I can learn from my friend and be the same in all my future endeavors. RIP, Brother John.
