Yup. Here's another one. This one hit close, since it happened at the walmart about a mile away, and this shit stain was one of my wife's students a few years back. He was a peice of shit back then as well.

SOUTHAVEN, MS (WMC-TV) - A Senatobia man has been arrested and charged with allegedly trying to abduct a child from a Southaven retail store.

According to police, Alex Beavers, 21, attempted to abduct an 8-year-old girl from the Wal-Mart on Southcrest in Southaven early Thursday evening.

Investigators used security video from the store to identify Beavers, who was later arrested at his home in Senatobia.

Beavers was charged with attempting to commit kidnapping, and is being held on $30,000 bond.

The article I posted has the guy at 18 with a 15 yr old girl friend. One has to wonder which way it should go........are they just being a couple or is it a problem. Not that it is right in either way but legally it can be devastating.

This is also posted in another article...

It appears that the Romeo and Juliet Laws that might have protected an 18-year-old from charges stemming from having sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend do not protect him from charges of possessing pornographic pictures of the same person.

We used to be smart enough to stay away from jail bait when I was younger....sure as hell wouldn't have taken pictures :rtard

The guy that tried to kidnap an 8 yo girl...sorry, no polite way to say it... he needs to die. They need to find a tall tree and short rope for him.

When were the pictures taken? if they were taken before June 26, then he was only 17. Would that even make a difference?

Frank

Don't know. The Romeo & Juliet law here really confuses the issues in some ways. Sleeping with vs pictures of.....what happens if they break up and someone gets pissed and presses charges......what if parents get involved and are upset..... They tried to help the problem area and they have in some ways but there is stil questionable areas.

I don't think so based on what I have heard of with the law. The problem here is there is a difference between sex and pictures. No one is complaining about them sleeping together....just the pics on his phone.

If she's under age then pictures are probably considered child porn. Whole different ball of wax compared to having sex with a girl who is under 18.

Yep....that is the problem with the law as it was written.......didn't/couldn't include every aspect of a relationship.....

Always seems the man is the one who gets blamed/in trouble. What if the girl took the pics of herself and sent them via text to him. Even if she didn't take them herself and text them to him and he took the pictures... she consented to the pictures/sex and if she is at legal age of consent, then she should be held accountable for her actions as well. If he's going to be charged with having the pictures, I think it's only fair she be charged with providing them.

I know the laws often seemed kind of stupid in general to me in this area.

When I turned 18 I was a senior in HS and dating a girl that was a junior and she was a year +/- younger than me. I was always nervous about things until she turned 18. Wasn't too nervous though since I didn't figure her folks would press charges. I was more worried about her dad kicking my ass if you want to know the honest truth :char

Back before 1700's, people typically got married at ages 12-17, mostly common-law marriages. My, how times change.

i have a neighbor who the girl's folks pressed charges. now they are married with three kids & he has to register on the sex offender lists. had everyone in the neighborhood stirred up when they moved in until the story came out. there should be a little common sense in these cases where everyone involved is interviewed before any charges are filed.

That girl and I had been dating for over a year when I turned 18. We were practically married and likely would have ended up married if we had met when we were older. Never a bad break up, just sort of grew apart as college started. Her dad was actually pretty cool. He was always working on some type of car and I used to go over and help him in my spare time to learn...

It was one of those deals where the folks never asked and we never offered any information if you know what I mean. I think they figured ignorance was bliss.

i tried that method with my old gf's too, but when you bring em home a couple times walking all bowlegged with a big grin from ear to ear...well, i think the parents figured out something was up :thu
