I would like some opinions on this---I just sold my 65 coupe project, I lost interest in it and have 2 others to keep me busy, I had overhauled the engine and never fired it up, I had a local machine shop put hardened exhaust seats in the head, put in new cam bearings, press the rod on 1 new piston, tank all the parts and hone the block, he said it didn't need bored. I told the buyer (a neighbor--good guy) all that I had done to the engine, I had the c4 rebuilt and all was in the car, I left a washer off the cam sprocket and sheared the pin off when cranking it but I had put a new one in, he was fine with that and said he and a friend would finish it (put timing cover on and distributor in), I got a call from him the other day and he said antifreeze ran out of #1 spark plug hole when he he filled the rad. they pulled the head and said there is a small hole in the block that a piece of wire welder wire will just fit in, he said it is hard to see just looking ---I am kind of ticked at the machine shop guy, I have known him for years and is supposed to be the best around this area, I have the feeling he is going to say too bad because it has been a couple of years since he did this, it never sat around before I put it together, I really should have caught this I suppose when I put the pistons in but I also feel it should have been caught when he checked the bore and honed the block, I found another engine I am going to pick up for the guy who bought it, I am wondering how far I should go with it, the guy swears he doesn't feel in anyway I knew about this because he saw I had painted the block, head, put near everything in new--I am thinking I will take another block(I am buying and picking up) and have it checked (again) --I think the machine shop ought to check it out on their nickel, I am going to let the new buyer put it together--I was thinking I will get a gasket set also---I have the reciept showing the bock was tanked and honed along with the other work--is this enough??
