3 cars...and I could get tickets in all of them.

Sebring - expired inspection & registration stickers. Registration is current but I never put the new sticker on and lost it so need to go get a replacement one.
Mustang - Turn signals don't work anymore. Not sure what all that problem is but worked one day and not the next. :shrug
Lexus - expired inspection sticker. Noticed it today it expired last month. oops

Its ok though because I just saved a bunch of money by switching to ....

Liberty Mutual! All 3 cars with full coverage... $134. :thu

The sticker fell off of my tag a while back, but I still have the paperwork they sent with it in the truck. And my inspection sticker expired.....in Feb. I just keep forgetting to go get it inspected.

I have Lib Mutual...Awesome outfit. I used to have AAA and loved them, but Lib Mutual has out done them. My kids have used the road side assistance to death and they haven't batted an eye, one daughter totaled two cars in six Months. they paid and didn't raise our rates. They have my homeowners too. Oh, they are covering both Mustangs for an agreed value.

I have a $500 deductible and refuse to make a claim just because I can, I just use it for the big stuff.

In Utah we have to get them inspected when we reg them. No sticker, but if you have current reg, you have an inspection form stapled to the reg. I like the inspections since people don't generally check things like lights and brakes, this makes them do it and fix it before they can reg the car. Some things are a PIA like the washers must work. That is one PIA of an issue with the Mustangs, and the 65 has no wipers, so it will not pass. I am working on a waiver for a show car.

Just tackle them one at a time Kat.

Took the Lexus to get it inspected yesterday. The guy looking over it said right off it wouldn't pass because of the LH tire tread was separating. So when hubby got home, we got a used tire ($20!) put on and got it reinspected and new sticker. She's legal to drive again.

As for the Sebring. There are still a couple little things I need to do for it to pass. The RH headlight needs fixed. There's a little bracket broken so the headlight doesn't sit in there very good so we have it duct taped in. LOL I just need to run to the store and buy some epoxy stuff and fix it. Oh and the LH caliper is leaking. We redid the front brakes last weekend. Replaced pads & hoses and the caliper on the RH side. Guess we're going to have to replace the LH one as well. :shrug

Gertrude... well I'm not too concerned about no turn signals right now. I'm about 99% sure it's just some funky wiring causing the problem. Hubby had removed the diamond dash plate earlier this week to peek at the wiring back there so something probably got knocked loose. No biggy. We're going to be putting in my JohnPro dash cluster sometime soon and redoing the wiring. :thu

I almost forgot. When we were getting the car inspected, hubby was talking to one of the office guys about Sebrings. Well turns out not long ago, they had a 1999 Sebring vert brought in with a blown motor. The owner didn't want to pay to fix it so had the shop call up the junk yard and owner sold it to the yard for $400. @#*@!#$!@ I would have given him $400 for it! They said it was a shame because the car was immaculate for a 1999. Tires were new, vinyl top was new, leather seats in perfect condition.

So hubby had me call the junk yard to see if they still had it and if it's still the whole car and how much for the whole car. His bright idea is to take the engine out of my sebring and put it in this one. :roul Not a bad I guess if they sell it kind of cheap. I'm suppose to call the junk yard back here in like 20min to talk to the owner who will discuss the car, price, etc. If they want too much for the whole thing... I'll just go buy a few parts off it.

I just licensed my wifes Caddy yesterday. Tags had been dead since February :roll I nor she had paid much attention to it until we were like "oh crap"

Ha! and I thought I was bad for not noticing things. I have no excuse about the Lexus inspection ... but the Sebring, well it's been undrivable since early May and has been sitting in the driveway since.

Dang! You folks need to come cruising through downtown Raleigh, NC. I'm a little behind on my numbers for the month... 5 more and I get a new toaster! :pbj

Glad I live far, far away! :hide

Speaking of tickets... I'm really surprised I haven't been pulled over yet in Gertrude. There's been times I've been right next to a police car... just waiting for those lights to flip on because of the expired (since June) registration sticker on her windshield. I carry the current registration sticker and paperwork with me when I drive her. I keep being told around here, cops really don't pay any attention to classics and just let them be, unless you are driving like a jackhole.
