Keisler RS Perfect fit 5 speed

Has anyone put in one of the new Keisler Transmissions? They are more compact than a TKO, handle the same power, cheaper and have a nice warranty. I am thinking about getting one for my new Volvo P1800 project but I don't know much about the product. It seems like a great value and I like the fact it is much smaller than a TKO or T56.

They also ahve a clutchless 6 speed that is based on a T56 that looks cool.

several people have reported a long lead time (several months) on those transmissions. i'm not sure what your need date would be, but you may want to give them a call.

I have seen that concept and I am going to use some of the ideas from it on my build. I really like the clean lines and the nose.

puzzling that you don't see more of those being built. people go nuts over the studebaker hawk & IMO the lines on the volvo are very similar. should be a cool build, look forward to updates..

Lol, I tried it in my phone, and the site sent it into epileptic fit.

Did that to my craptop too.

That is weird. They have a video that plays on the side of the page when it loads. I wonder if that has something to do with it.

It looks like it could be a great product if they can actually deliver any. What gets me about this outfit was how quick they were to throw the Tremec TKO transmissions under the bus. When they started advertising these RS trannies they were quick to point out how superior they were to the "lousy" shifting Tremecs. All the while they continued selling Tremec transmission packages and still do lol. Heck I guess they had no choice because their "new" RS stuff simply wasn't being delivered (heard of people waiting a year or more). It seems to me it was the sale of all these "Perfect Fit" Tremec packages that put them on the map. They'll never get a dime of my money.

TKO's are notorious for shifting issues at high rpm's. If you go poke around fox body forums, there are people complaining left and right about how their transmission locked in between 2nd and 3rd while shifting at 6500rpm. In order to unlock it at that point, you have to drop the tranny and pull one of the access plates on the top of the transmission.

TKO's are designed for high torque street cars. Tremec bought the rights to Ford's toploader design, upgraded it a little, added a gear and internal shift rods, and called it a day. If you've ever driven a late model F body or Corvette with a 6sp manual (T56), you'll understand how clunky Toploaders and T56's are.

Not saying I don't love my close ratio toploader, but it can't compare to the smoothness of a newer transmission design.

I'm aware of all the grumbling on the net about TKO shifting issues. I just think it's funny how Keisler plays the game, throwing Tremec under the bus, yet continuing to sell them because they can't fill RS orders.
