Kinda pricey but dang nice hood pins

I'd like to see how they work on the inside. I never liked the regular hood pins for several reasons. These can even be painted, thought someone might be interested.

I like the pins and lanyards I have. I ran the steel cable through a very small clear tube [nb]after heating it up in very hot water[/nb] and I don't get any scratching or rubbing of the paint!
 
Hmm those are pretty cool. I'm still up in the air if I want to go with hood pins or not. I have plenty of time to think about it though. Going to save that link in my 'wish list' folder.
 
I've had these on my radar for a while now. $400+ for hood pins is a bit much. :craz FWIW, if you've been around a while you might know that is not my usual stance on cool car parts.
I'm typically the first one with his wallet open. Give it some time and there will be other options that are more reasonable.
 
I got the ones with the keys at Autozone. they look nice on the 67.

I am going to take the hood hinges off the 65 and install four pins. I like the twist to open pins. I plan on moving the battery to the trunk with the solenoid and a power shut off for security, so locking the hood isn't all that important.

Never found a use for hood pins on a street car but that is just me.... I would not want a 4 pin hood for normal use as it is to much work to get into, having to lift it off with a bad back.
 
good point Pete. I may want to rethink that. I did see some sort of setup where you pull the pins and the hood will lift straight up and lock into place so you can work and not have to take it all the way off. I think you would just have to watch your head.

I saw that on another brand car. Seemed like a real pain and really had to bend over to get under it in the "up" position. Sure is nice in a hurry to be able to pop the latch and open the hood,,,,or to show off the engine.
 
Those look good. I dont have hood pins on my car. I still cant get used to driving down the highway an watching the hood shake.

Raise your eyes up about 6 inches and look at the traffic in front of you... :lol :lol
 
I like the old style with plastified steel cable though.
But I haven't the gutts to drill the holes in my new fresh painted hood !!!
 
.... or ..... just don't use the cables. I don't use them on my car and I've never misplaced a removed hood pin.
