Kinda wound up, going to pick up my new car tomorrow...Update

...just hope it survives the 80 mile trip on the 'bahn without blowing up.
Oh yeah....it's a '66 T-Bird- one more piece of American iron over here!
I sure hope BP stops leaking all that oil out into the Gulf, I need to burn that stuff in my new big block!

I image the great looks you must get when you drive you classic American cars on the German roadways... priceless.

Congrats on the new acquisition!!!

Congrats David, that car won't draw attention to it now will it :eek:mg

Nice! I've got a complete set of 66 tbird hubcaps that may help you out (I plucked them from a 67 Tbird). If you need hubcaps or parts, holler (via PM). Enjoy that on the 'Bahn! Those 390s were made to run!

I just noticed that that Bird is as big as the houses behind it!

Cool car indeed! My father had a white one like that parked on the farm for years. We used to play in it as kids. Used to pretend it was a plane with the funky cockpit in those things... It became know as the bee car after getting stung by bees in it a bunch of times. Father sold it for $20 before I was old enough to stop him. I love seeing them at car shows now, brings me back a little.

I love the mid-60's T-Birds. My folks had a black '65 that was almost indestructible. It was easy to drive, easy to tune, and very very comfortable. It ate up bias-ply tires every 10k miles (didn't every car at that time?) and got 10-11 mpg. It had tons of torque and driving over speed bumps at speed didn't phase it at all. I took my driver's license test in it.

One day in 1974, it was parked out on the street and some bozo drove into it doing 75 mph and totaled it. I've always wanted to get another one.

COOL, I came home from the hospital as a new born in a brand new 66 T-Bird! It wasn't yellow though. My granddad bought it new and my dad bought it from him, we had it until I was about 13 and it got wrecked.

Nice looking car, I am also envious of the road it was going down, I don't see many that smooth around my part of the world.
