Laser Temp reader

Being that I have been playing with a minor warming issue on my '66, I purchased one of the fancy laser temp. readers from Auto Zone. In the past, they were all a bit pricey for my needs. Found this OEM (China I believe) brand name (part number 25245) for 29.95. Seems to be ok for the money. It has read good on all the trials so I am pleased. Works for all kinds of application around the house too....kids, dogs, beer, ice cream and such things.

I bought one today as well, on Pete's recommendation. Handy little device!

The point and shoot temp guns are good, just pay attention to their Distance to Spot(dts). They do not measure the little red laser dot. They measure an area and average the temp.

Example;
A 1:1 dts is BAD. This indicates that if you are 12 inches from the target the gun is looking at a 12 inch area.

A 10:1 dts is GOOD. This indicates that if you are 10 inches from the target the gun is looking at a 1 inch area.

Note: Some guns will label their dts as Field of View(fov)
