Last piece to move to UT

I finally got the last part of my life moved to SLC... my Mustang!!! It arrived yesterday via Exotic Vehicle Transport out of FL. The driver picked it up from my painter (after a last touch up) on Tuesday and it delivered on noon on Wednesday. The truck was very nice, and the driver was in communication with me every step of the way. Cost... $670. If you're looking or enclosed transport, I'd recommend this carrier.

Here's she is unloading, but unfortunately, it went right into winter storage. I sure got spoiled by the all year driving in CA, but it's good to have it here with me in UT.

Sweet! another UTAH member! You should get up to Park City and see Joyce.

I'll be in Murray from the 29th to whenever they release me to come home from surgery.

Welcome to the best state in the union!

Mel

Wow...sure glad it arrived safe. That truck driver had it on E-bay while in transit. :roll :roll :roll :yah

Tell us all about winter again Mike. :roll :roll

In the Southern part of the state winter isn't too bad. SLC? I am not fond of winter up there.

If you need anything let me know, I get up there a lot.

WELCOME!
Yippee! another gorgeous stang in the neighborhood!

We hope to be able to meet you and your stang sometime.

Let me know if you need anything.

Thanks for the well wishes y'all. Yeah, winter sucks in SLC... unless you like to ski (or snowboard)!!!! I'm totally loving the skiing here. It's amazing to have world class skiing only 30-40 min drive from downtown. I used to have to drive for 4-6 hours (pending the weather) to ski in the Tahoe area. Now I can wake up late, have a leisurely breakfast and still get a half day on the mountain with no problem at all.

Why SLC? Well, after being laid off back in Nov 09, I couldn't find a comparable job in the SF Bay area. Nine months later I find a great opportunity with Disney working on video games at their SLC studio. I decided to take it, and I have no regrets. Sure, I miss CA and the awesome weather, but I don't miss the high housing costs and high taxes! Plus, they matched my old CA salary, which is like getting a hell of a raise with the lower cost of living here in UT. The last piece of the puzzle is finding a home to buy, and I've been very picky. I'm torn between the Park City area or somewhere east of downtown. There's a ton on the market, and it's great to have the upper hand as the buyer.

Mel/guruatbol & Epperstang, I'll definitely be seeing y'all. It's great to know there are some Stangfix'ers in the area.

Mel, what do you mean... surgery?!!!! Whatcha going in for? Where are you going to be? Is there anything I can do for you while you're up here?... I could sneak some of your favorite food into the hospital if ya want.
