lawnmowers Class action

guruatbol

Always on vacation!
I found a site that is for a class action suit for lawn mowers of all things. I am entitled to $75 from this action. Free money.

http://lawnmowerclass.com

There is a settlement on many mowers, mine is a Sears with a Briggs and Stratton engine in it. They say the mfg misrepresented the HP rating. I guess it is time to get a little boxer motor and do a swap...More power, grunt here!

Hehehe

I think this sort of thing is one of the things that cause our courts to be plugged up. I am going to file to get my $75 anyway....

No, no....we don't no stinkin TORT reform....not at all.

:eek:mg

Hey, I got one... 20 HP Murray bought in 95 from Walmart, I pretty much got my moneys worth, so I will most likely not pursue the $75.

You have got to be kidding me. I can get $35 though. What I ought to do is apply for the money and send a check to B&S with a letter stating this lawsuit is BS. Un-freakin-believable.

I like that idea!

I think if you can you should pursue it, just takes a minute online to apply for it!

Then we could all sent the money back to the mfg with a letter about the whole thing!

My Crapsman is too old - 19 years and still ticking - Kohler engine w/ forced oil system & filter - it may never stop.

I have a Honda push mower that is great. I left it outside all winter just put gas in it the other day pulled once and it fired up. I hate to hear about these lawsuits. Greedy :fbomb trying to get something for nothing.

Well at least we know Midlife won't be taking advantage of this lawsuit....he only uses sheep. :vic

Note that the amounts are "UP TO" $35 / $75...

Basically, they set aside X amount to pay the claims, and everyone signs up for a piece of the pie...
Then the lawyers take THEIR MILLION$$$ (yes, millions) out first and split whatever is left among the "damaged".
Last time I was in on one of these, I got a check for $5 and a 1 year warranty extension on something that was long since replaced.

I remember the air compressor class action about 8 or 10 years ago over the same thing, misrepresentation of HP rating on air compressors. You'd think the manufacturer's would have learned their lesson. If I was a slimy lawyer, I'd be looking at the next big tool to hit, say, cordless drills or whatever, that could be overrated.

Anyhow, the air compressor deal you could choose between some air tool accessories, some air tools, etc. I picked out a 3/8" air wratched and submitted my paperwork. The air wratched never showed up.

Looks like I can get the $35 out of this deal, if I actually get it, maybe I'll go buy that 3/8" air wratchet I've wanted for the past 10 years and never bothered to buy.

How do they determine this? Lawnmower dyno? I think I got $5 once for buying a milli vanilli CD....... (I am just kidding) :nta
