A retired Sheriff Deputy shot and killed a gunman at a local school board meeting here in Panama City. Mike Jones is also known as Salvage Santa, who reburbishes recycled bicycles for kids and donates them at Xmas. He is one of the Bay Mustang Club's three charities.

A very bizarre incident, to say the least...

It is well known around here that there is more than likely an armed law enforcement of some type on the school grounds. Being his wife was an ex-employee, he should have known this too.

This happened at my granddaughters school. They were on lock down as the text messages were flying from students to parents. The "victim" was transported to the hospital where my daughter works as supervisor in the film library and helps in the x-ray lab as needed so she was in the OR when they brought him in.

Just a small connection here for the family......
