I hate to throw it away, what would you do with it?

Store it until you need a piece. Who knows when you could inlay something (like a console) with stainless. :sur

+2 Work bench top. I've seen work bench tops in stainless in a couple of shops, and it looks great... easy to clean and won't rust.
