Our wonderful loving dog "Gypsy" had to be put down today. We got her when she was just 4 months old from the local pound. A shepard mix, a big girl nearly 75 pounds, she went to heaven today nearly 16 years old, our hearts are breaking. She was a great dog that will be sorely missed. We gave her a good life and she returned it with undying love and affection.

Sorry to hear that...sucks to lose a pet of many years.

Just went through that last week at our house.

My heart is breaking for both you and Toni. My condolences.

Toni & Vinny. I've known how close Gypsy has been to the both of you and am very sorry to hear of her passing.

16 years is a really long life for a big dog.
Our German Shephard is 12 1/2 and i expect this year to be her last.

Vinny and Toni, I'm so sorry to hear that Gypsy has died. It's never easy when a family member passes on, but she will be forever in your hearts. The passing of Jeb back in 08 is what started us down the road of puppy raising for Canine Companions and it has been a really good thing that's changed our lives for the better. You just never know what our pets can do for us.

You were doing something extra special to have her live to 16. I lost my shepherd mix and 14 and I thought I was doing great. It's been 11 years and I still miss her. I am so sorry for your loss. They are family as much as anyone with two legs.

So well put Mark.

Vinny & Toni.
So sorry to hear about Gypsy.
She will be missed but left this world knowing she was very loved.

Sorry to hear this. Pets DO become like children... :thu

Our old guy (on the right) is now 13. Constant battle with back & hip issues, but he just keeps going. Can't see, can't hear, can't run...
I think the "puppy" gave him some new life. They were both rescues.
