And this ain't all of it. The parents and kids from Ermalyn's class are doing up an additional 4-5 boxes of stuff for our troops. They are doing a class project with cards, letters and art work. The partents are putting together more goodies and it will all be shipped out on Friday. We have 12 address's to send goodies too so each location should get two boxes.

My family and I want to thank all of the members for this donation effort and especially Randy and Rick for letting this happen. This is by far the biggest amount of donations we have sent. They are gonna love it.

We are going to flip a coin to see who gets the grease monkey :craz

:ecit Somebody say Boiled Peanuts !!! :ecit I'll wear my GO Opentracker shirt with Pride. :vic

Thank you for taking the time and energy to put this all together John, and thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.

It's my pleasure. I enjoy it a lot. I'll post photo's as they come in from the troops.
The pile doesn't have any T-shrits in it or boiled peanuts. I know the T-shirts are gonna be added but I'm not sure about the BP's. There are some non-boiled nuts in the pile though.

We got special APO flat rate boxes from the post office. They ship at a cheaper rate than the regular boxes.

You guy's should have seen the faces of the people in the store while I was shopping. They thought I was nuts. I was grabbing arm fulls of stuff off the shelf. I was talking to myself out loud saying "Damn, they only have ten of these" or " Crap, they only have twelve of those, don't they stock the damn shelf's around here"? One little old lady looked in the carts as I went by and gave me the look like " Geez sonny, having a party are we " ?

The people in line behind me when I went to check out were pissed. It probably took 5 minutes for me to just unload the carts. It got to the point where I had to say " Hey, it's all going to our Troops overseas"! ... after that they calmed down a little. The checker was getting a tired arm and had to stretch a couple of time to relieve the strain. I think she was trying to move along at a good clip to help calm the crowd. A couple of people moved to another line and they did open another register. Would have made a great comedy short. I'm looking forward to the next time.

Now, that's a great story. I can see it now... the dirty looks as you hold up the line. Nice move letting them know you were sending it to our troops overseas!

Thanks to you AND your family for pulling it together.

Thanks for the work you do John, I can't wait to see some pics from the Troops!! I agree with the GO ORP shirt say'n on the back, "Shopping for our Troops so :stfu"

Just dropped off the boxes. Ermalyn's class decorated each one and made cards for the troops. Shari packed all the goodies and we used our ORP label making machine to do the address. It worked out well.

The PO was packed. I took JD and Ermalyn with me to help cary the boxes in. Took three trips even with the hand truck. JD did his best Santa .... Ho - Ho - Ho ... for everyone. We filled up the whole right side of the counter. Just what they needed LOL.

Thanks again everyone :pep

Just out of curiosity, what would you estimate the entire cost to be for something like that....the items, the packaging, the mailing....all inclusive?

John, please let us know each time as you approach sending these out. I wish I could give more, but I plan to be a part of every set of packages you send out from now on, however much or little I can give at the time.
