Lowering seat pans - 67/68

Anyone lowered seat pans in a 67/68? I plan on putting in 2001 Bullitt seats (when I get to that point) but wondered if it was better/easier to modify the original seat pans to lower them or get the 69 seat pans and weld them in after removing the originals. The 2001 Bullitt seats are quite a bit taller than the originals so I thought I would do this now.

I did both, I originally modified the drivers side to lower it. It was a big improvement. Later my wife asked that I do the passenger side. On that one I just bought a 69 pan and replaced the original. It was a lot easier IMO. seat pan 3.JPG

yes, 69 seat pans are indeed lower. It's an easy way to give yourself some headroom without slouching! Not as easy as slouching though...

It was to cover some speaker wires I had running along the tunnel at one point.
