Im working on a 67 mustang with a 351w and its fitted with a petronix module in the dist and a mallory pro master coil, the coil/dist gets a 12 v direct from ign switch do i need a ballast resistor fitted ?

The reason for the resistor wire or ballast resistor is to prevent premature wear on the ignition points by lowering the voltage supplied to them. Since you are not running points, you don't need a ballast resistor or resistor wire.
