Manual Disk to Power Disk

5 years ago I did a disk conversion on my 68 Coupe. I used 68 Disk Brake components except I used the manual booster from a 73 Maverick.

I am tired of the hard pedal so I am wanting to finish the conversion and go all the way to power brakes. I have the booster and disk brake pedal. I need to get some brake line and brake fluid. I know I can modify the current pedal support to mate with the booster. What else am I missing?

Looking at the pic of the brake booster...How is it held on to the firewall? It looks like the bracket has threaded studs that go through the firewall and is held on with nuts on the inside on the pedal support. But doesn't the pedal support have nuts? Is that correct or do I need to put down the crack pipe and get back to work?

for 67 - 68. Three of the 4 pressed in nuts are not there to allow the booster to be bolted with regular nuts from under the dash.

That's cool!! I just put in a booster in the wife's 65, and it was a royal PITA to get the bracket bolted on!!

For my 70 I did indeed have to get a new brake light switch. There is a different pedal ratio between manual and power brakes, which affects the spring rate within the switch. You can see the spring from the outside of the switch.

I highly recommend the NAPA polymer lines, really easy to bend. I got down to starting the bend to 90* then wrapping it around a 3/4" socket for the smallest circle I needed:

Gee Jonk~If I had only known about those brake lines~! That looks fantastic! I want mine to look like that! :cry The lines in my photo were a pain to bend, even with a bender from Eastwood! Great job! Good info!

I'm surprised over your hard pedal feel with the Maverick MC, unless you have the wrong one. I have a '74 Maverick manual disk/drum MC in the '66, and I think it's just as easy or easier to stop than my Scary with the stock '69 power brake/drum setup.

The picture of your new MC, though, looks like either disk/disk or drum/drum. Looks like both reservoirs are the same size, which I've never heard of on a disk/drum setup.
