Might have another Mustang in the garage soon.

Going to look tomorrow at an '01 Convertible. Not my personal first choice in years but found one that is reasonable price wise and looks very well maintained.

I not so seriously mentioned to the wife we should buy it and keep the miles on it over the next few years as low as possible but not let it just sit either then give it to one of the boys when they turn 16 because they were born in 2001. It's a V6 so that will keep the insurance down and should get decent gas mileage.

Turns out the wife fell in love with the car at first sight looking at the pictures. So the general plan is if we buy it we'll sell her PT Cruiser....(side note....Mark, I'll be coming through Kansas in June so paypal me the money for the Cruiser and I'll drop it off on my way to Omaha in mid June). She works at home now and doesn't drive much. Sometimes she's at home for days at a time but when she does go somewhere it's usually local.

Ben liked the car right off.

At first Jeff said he wanted a different year model. However, the more he thought about it he likes the car to. At first they said they would have to flip a coin about who gets it when they turn 16 but now they are saying they want to get another car like it with a different color. They thought it would be cool for the twins to have twin cars....LOL!

Never can tell from looking at pictures so we'll go have a look tomorrow to size up the deal and go from there.

I'll pass on the PT, BUT...you better make plans to stop in Kansas on your way North!!

Post up the pics of the 01 when you get back.

so why cant you post the picture you found in the add?

Because that thought didn't occur to me, LOL!

We ended up buying it. Pretty run of the mill V6. Some dings and scratches but if we're going to use it as a driver I am not going to get it painted / fix it anytime soon. The driver's seat does have a little wear so going to start looking for a deal on a seat or cover, etc.

All in all in pretty decent shape for it's age.

Attached a few pictures...a few are from the add...

Nice ride, congrats :thu

Thanks.

Like I said...The boys team is playing a tournament in Omaha next June. Planning on driving and should be passing through Kansas if you want me to trailer the Cruiser up to you...actually should be able to sell it for about the same price we paid for the '01

For some reason I find that amusing. :confu
probobly the only time he has said those words...

Nice, it has 05 wheels?

yes...guy that owned it had put them on there. Not so sure I am in love with them to be honest. At a minimum I'm going to get a new set of lug nuts for the car since the ones on there look like something that were just laying around or are designed to be hidden under a center cap.

Did find a set of original '01 rims for $250...kicking that one around....problem being we all know how that goes. You start trading out rims, next the few scratches are bugging you then before you know it you find yourself with a sander in hand and it just grows from there, LOL!

Not a bad little car. Wife works at home so she won't be putting many miles on it. Might consider getting it painted in a couple of years but not going to do much to it in the short term.

A decent Mustang. I have a '02 V6 I bought used. Good power and I get 25mpg on the highway. Usually 21 around town.

I hate the trans though. But hey its a DD.

The V6 seems pretty gutless...out of the factory I think they were advertised at 193 hp.

However, when the boys start driving that will be a very good thing. :thu

I am sure there are performance upgrades that could be done to that motor but the boys would have to figure that out for themselves...me, I plan to play dumb....I know, not hard for me, all I have to do is act naturally :roll
