Yeah, not real purdy but hell I'm at least working on the pup. Thanks to KBMWRS and JeffTepper for coming over on Saturday to help:

1. Install the Slik Stik shifter
2. Finalize opinions on Zbar modification, which I completed that evening.
3. Gapped and installed the Accel Spark plugs
4. Install the Holley 750 DP
5. Dumped in the Brad Penn oil and dropped in the dizzy.
6. Installed water temp sending unit.

Yesterday, connected the plug wires and as soon as the permanent valve covers come in on Wednesday I'll finalize the routing and length of them. Also reinstalled the Zbar after it's modification. Think we have liftoff.

Craig, What did you end up doing about the exhaust manifold/Z-bar issue, I dont recall reading anything about it recently.

Jeff, yup.

Rick, Kept the original Sanborn manny and went with a boss 302 Zbar which helped a lot but I still tweaked the lower arm towards the tranny a little bit for more exhaust room. I had my exhaust guy come over and he approved the space I now have.

When are you going to fire up that beast? Unless i missed it, have you done any break in yet?

Wouldn't you want to prime the motor of oil before firing?

Yes, we did a initial oil pump spin and will do it again before fire up day. When? Maybe end of month depending if I can stay focus. Still needs to be flat bedded to Lupe the muffler dude.

... and used teflon tape on the fittings from the fuel rail to the seats, right? If you didn't, it's a guaranteed leak.

Yes, when I start to finalize the fuel line, all threaded fittings will be treated with a thread sealant. Not a real fan of teflon tape.

I still don't know what you have against the Permatex liquid thread sealant. I've had good luck with it.

Tad, I think I will infact use the Permatex white stuff afterall since I have it. Just want to make sure I wipe all excess off.

Nor was I. After trying everything under the sun to stop the leak, I finally read the Holley instructions which say to use teflon tape. So I did and have never looked back.
