Mid vs long

I'm not sure if this was covered at all, but what's the difference between mid length headers and long tubes? I'm trying to decide on which route I'd like to go, I really hate the idea of playing around with the power steering.. Is there any power difference between the two? I'm looking at patriots mid lengths, and pertronix tri Ys longs..
I know mids would be easier to install, just looking for the best choice...

Long tubes stop near the mid section of the tranny or there abouts. They produce a bit more power.

Shorties, or mid length end near the starter area and produce a bit less power. No power steering interference with them.

Both provide slightly better flow than manifolds.

All depends if you need to squeeze every last bit of power out of an engine.

Well it's a stock 302, looking for a fun. Nothing serious only around 300 350 when all said and done. My plans for next winter is rebuild motor with a nice set of heads intake carb, then hopefully get around there.. But I need to redo exhaust since it's 40 years old and needs to be done, and this is the beginning..
