I've heard an ad for Mini Coopers stating they have "go-cart" handling.

Why would anyone want go-cart handling? There's no springs, damping, or shocks! I think what is implied is rapid steering and flat cornering. Would you want go-cart handling? It doesn't make me want to even consider Mini Coopers!

Handling vs ride.......go cart handling is as you said, flat corners and quick, responsive handling. The "ride" would be the springs, shocks, and dampening.

But, I have no desire to own one....unless it was one of the more original types (late 70's) I saw at a recent show.

This type...a blast to drive.

I test drove an S years ago. I gotta admit, it was a fun a$$ car. My problem was that with my giant size (6'5", and 350 at the time, 280 now) I could barely fit, and with my giant kicks, pushing the clutch down caused the corner of my foot to catch on the brake pedal. Not enough to slow the car, but enough to annoy me. I figured I could change the pedals out, but I'm not gonna buy a new car with the expectation of changing it JUST to make it drivable. Buying one to change to make it faster, sure :)

They happen to be my daughter's favorite car, and when she turns 16 in a couple years, I wouldn't be opposed to checking them out for her...but I doubt I'd get her an S. Though it's SO hard for me to buy a car and not get the performance version!! :vic
