Going to a local farmers yearly wild game, fish, pig nut, calf nut, turtle supper tonight, I know it isn't the same as boiled peanuts but it will be tasty. I can almost feel my heart plugging up as I type, I usually help them set up and bread the food for frying. There will even be a couple poker games to indulge in--I have won very little and lost quite a bit in years past. Been steering clear of the alchohol for a while so that will be tough to play poker sober!

There was a guy who was supposed to bring 5 pounds of "turkey jewels" (Guess what they are) I have eaten them years ago, they are about the best. Around here they used to be a draw at good old boy bars to have "mountain oyster fries", they are getting harder to come by as large production facilities usually castarate at a very young age and the testicales are not big enough to save, while in high school I used to get a lot of calls on weekends to help area farmers "hold" the pigs while someone castrated them, some of the farmers let the pigs get up to 200 plus pounds--that was both cruel and hard on the livestock, not to mention damn near impossible to hold--that would kill me now--I was in a little better shape back then.
