Modesto Graffiti June 6, 7, & 8

The cruise is going to be much better this year! Instead of the traffic jam downtown, they are going to cruise McHenry ( like I did in the 80's) for several miles. Should move along much better. Of course, I will be there!

Hi Guys, how have you all been? I haven't been very active on this site lately. I'm very glad to hear you all are thinking about coming to town for Graffiti. No one came last year, which was a good thing because it was 105+ on Saturday. People were melting. In 2012, we pre-gamed at my house, you all went to the cruise, while had to set up/play the gig at the Fruit Yard. After the cruise, you all went out there for dinner, drinks, and heckled the band.

I will be in town this year and will be at the show both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately, on Friday night I have a band gig at the Oakdale County Club from 630 to 1030, so I won't be around for the cruise or dinner. Ken, are you interested in entertaining the out-of-towners on Friday?

The Friday night cruise route is longer and improved. There should be more driving and less stop-go traffic.

Sac69 is coming for sure, but he and I haven't discussed any details yet. My friend Ed, (used to own the Saleen vert and 67 FB) bought a restored 65 GT vert and will probably be lurking around. I don't know if our buddy Don (red 67 FB) is coming yet. Anyone planning to make the trip? Book your hotel early, I still recommend the Springfield Suite on Orangeburg. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys real soon. Especially KMBWRS:

Re: Modesto Graffiti June 6, 7, & 8

I am strongly considering Friday arrival and Saturday departure.

I am sure we can work out some sort of pre-cruise get together as well as something to do for dinner afterwards. Let's get a head count closer to the event and we will put it together.

What hotel should I book?

Look at Del65's post above. I know the group stayed there last time. Nice, clean and less than a mile from the show.

Ok room booked, registered for show and took Friday off. I am good to go up Friday any time.

Let me know if anyone wants to meet up , carpool, dinner, cruise whatever

I will head home Saturday evening.

Hi Justin, glad to hear you're coming to Mo-town. As we get closer to the show. We'll put a plan together. Definitely meet early Sat am to drive in and park together.

Jeff, you coming as well? Your buddy out here, Ed, will be disappointed if you don't make it.

John:

Yes I am coming Friday for the cruise, staying at Springhill, and participating in the show Saturday. I am looking forward to seeing you and Tom, Ed, Don , Ken, and anyone else that happens by while I'm in Mo-town.

Justin, caravaning over on Friday afternoon sounds good. The initial paperwork indicates that the 7:00 p.m. cruise has a single point of entry at the Days Inn (McHenry & Orangeburg) which is different than prior years where there were multiple staging areas south of the cruise route. I'm thinking that if we can stage around 6:00 p.m. that should be fine. If I am wrong, I expect John will correct my assessment. In any event, We can deal with the logistics a little closer to the event.

Regards, Jeff
