Great movie, I would recommend it to everyone except for small children (more about that later). Robert Downey Jr. is such a great actor and I really hope that he can keep is act together. Saw a preview for IronMan II before the movie, cannot wait until May 2010. Back to the movie, moved at a good pace, no real slow spots, enough comic relief to keep it moving along. It is a movie that I will want to buy when it comes out on DVD.
So we went Christmas evening, SWMBO, SIL and BIL and left the kids at home, 2 16 year olds, 12 year old and a 2 year old. So why would you go to a PG-13 and take small children with you, 2 year and 4 year old? In and out of the seat next to me, in and out of the aisle with the parent. Just overall annoying rude parent. I would understand if it was a kids movie, but this is not a movie for kids.

So I give it 4 out of 5 :pop :pop :pop :pop . fd

My wife and I went to see "The Good Citizen" a month or so ago. Directly over my right shoulder was seated a family who decided the movie was just fine for their 2, 6 and 9 year old little kids. I was VERY uncomfortable during the entire movie as the kids kept asking questions like....

Why is that man pulling that ladies underwear off?

Why is she screaming?

Why is he hurting that man?

Is he going to kill that man?

Is he going to cut that man up into pieces?

I almost left the movie, but realized that me leaving wouldn't fix anything and the kids would still be sitting there watching graphic violence. At each of the kids honest questions, I turned around and stared directly at the kids parents.... each of whom seemed oblivious to my concerns.

When the lights came on at the end of the movie I gave both of the parents the "you're a flippin' idiot and I'm disgusted with you" look before I left.

I do not allow my 15, going on 25 year old daughter to watch R rated movies and she wasn't allowed to watch a PG-13 movie until she was 13. I'll still change the channel if during a PG-13 movie we're watching it becomes inappropriate for youngsters. I know that she's watched movies at her friends house that I wouldn't have allowed her to see, but it wasn't endorsed by me.
