Let me first and foremost say that any offensive avatars placed this morning were my doing and from no one else. I'm not gonna make any excuses but was under the impression there was a "mass" joke played on me and therefore retaliated without considering some may have not been involved. My apologies to those who were offended in any way. Double the apologies to those who had nothing to do with the original joke. There will be no more profile changes of any sort from me in the future. If you feel the need to express your dissatisfaction with what took place, feel free to shoot me a pm. Again, I thought those in on the joke would be on early and see what was happening. I didn't realize it was not a "group effort" (no excuse) and didn't take the "general public" into consideration when doing this.

I will take the blame for this entire debacle. What started out as a funny joke played on Duane yesterday afternoon, turned into something that offended many people.

I apologize to any and all that were offended by my actions.

Mark is a freaking evil genius. It takes true mastery of the dark arts of comedy to bait someone of weaker mind to do something that they come to regret. "These are not the droids you are looking for...." The fact that he played on Duane's fear of owls was true genius. PLus, some of the avatars may actually trigger self realization in some of the members. "Say, now that I see it on the internet, maybe I really am a bone smoker..." It does suck that it led to Sluggo missing time from work. He works hard to keep this board running. A mad sluggo is a bad thing. Another silver lining is that it made me get around to making an avatar out of the old school hotrod cartoon that I had an artist pal draw of my car.

I forgot to type the post in sarcasm font. No argument about the judgment issues all around with those involved.
 
You're not all to blame Duane.

It all started when I jokingly suggested we should change our avatars to owls. I didn't think anyone would take it serious and actually do it but that started the whole issue.

My apologies as well!
 
This is a prime example as to why you should be WORKING on cars on the weekends in lieu of sitting on the computer.

Hmm, having missed all the excitement this morning, I'm glad to see my PSU Blue and White flag is still flying as opposed to one of the more popular jabs directed at me, perhaps one involving dolls.

On a more serious note... Duane, way to man up dude.

AND, this whole topic, as well as the other one started by Sluggo, are a great testament to the maturity here, as opposed to some other, ahem, unnamed forums.
