I bought myself a birthday present. It arrived today all the way from Idaho:

I have a third member being rebuilt with 3.55 gears to complement the T5. Now to get it all installed before Knotts.

VERY NICE !!! :yah :yah

But you gonna need that 3.55 soon because you won't use 4th and 5th till then. :wor :wor

Congratulations Frank. It looks fantastic.

When are we getting together to put that puppy in?

Well, I'm doing the swap in my parents' driveway, which isn't really conducive to a large gathering of rowdy Stangfixers. :beer

I'll try to take lots of pictures.

Nice way to treat yourself.

Only if you can't afford treating yourself to an evening of bliss at a strip joint............ :yah

Frank,
What the gear ratio for 5th? Do you have the ID tag numbers for it?

amber's 67 has the stock diff and I get into 4th and 5th all the time. about 65 in 4th and 75 in 5th. We get 25-28 MPG on the highway with it. On ED I have the lower diff and the TKO instead of the T5 which is higher 5th gear and lower 1st and 2nd. I still get 23-25MPG on the highway and use 5th all the time!

But then again the speed limits here are 75 in some areas and 80 in others.

I love the track-loc in ED, gonna do same in the 67 as soon as money gets better and I fix all the rest of the little things first.

Frank,
That's the same tranny I have in Shag. Same ID numbers and 5th gear ratio. You will find that 5th gear being a .63 is pretty doggy to enter
unless you enter it around 3k rpm. Yet, it's a good gas saver.

That was one of the PITA's on the drive to Knott's, no o/d. Happy belated birthday too.

The last time I was at knotts with the fb I had the tko in it with the new rear end and wow was it cool.

The first knotts with the 68 was the t10 wat a pia but by the first mitm with the 68 we had the t5 in it and even with the stock rear wow it was awesome. Now to change the rear chunk in the 68.

You will wonder how you ever did without it when you are done.

Mel
