Just another desperate attempt to put the genie back in the bottle and draw in new fans to fill seats and boost ratings (good luck) Kinda' funny seeing the ones that ruined it in years gone buy now trying anything and everything to fix it."blue65coupe" said:WTH is up with this constant twitter crap?
Aside from all the safety issues, can you imagine trying to stay awake waiting for a Camry to make it around Daytona each lap? I'm with you though, "stock" bodies, race suspensions and drive trains. Engines based on each manufacturer's production engines."KBMWRS" said:Maybe they should race stock cars with stock engines. You know the type that people buy.
Now that I would watch. :steer

"Ponyman66" said:I used to be a HUGE fan back in the day. I even got the wife hooked back in the mid 80's. Several years ago I stated that the "new breed" in charge of NASCAR had ruined it by trying to pander to the "Johnny come lately" folks. They deleted mainstay races from the schedule, closed historic tracks and priced the average working folks away. They replaced the those races to move the scheduled date to some new track that was built in West BFE for a crowd that couldn't give a hoot about NASCAR 10 years ago. After they turned their backs on the plain old blue collar guys/gals that supported them through thick and thin for decades I think they deserve every damn thing that happens to them! I'll be throwing a party the day after NASCAR goes belly up! I say screw'm, they haven't gotten a single dime of my money in at least the past 8 years..and will never get another! Rant over! :soapboxrant
BTW, I don't sound TOO upset with NASCAR, do I? :sarc

Same here..the wife and I and friends went to the Daytona 500 and Fircracker 400 EVERY year in the 80's until they out priced us and a bunch of other working slobs and at the same time the cars and drivers were being molded into the new sleek, shiny package. Now the only way to tell the difference between the makes of cars or drivers is the stickers or different color firesuit. We also noticed that with the increasing ticket prices and TV coverage boosting it's "popularity" that the true race fans were being replaced by the come late, leave early I'm only here because it's the "in thing" to do crowd that didn't know the first thing about racing and have since moved on to whatever the new popular thing is. As they say...." You only reap what you sow". Damn funny I think."Ponyman66" said:I used to be a HUGE fan back in the day. I even got the wife hooked back in the mid 80's. Commentary:
Waltrip--when I was racing I..........
McReynolds--when I was a crew chief I..........
Female pit reporter--they got this machine thingy that, oh look there's Jr
Driver drama:
Tony Stewart gets pissed and blows a bunch of "smoke"
Kyle Bush has his period in the car and gets a little "rowdy"
They get mad at each other and point in each others visors.
Progression:
Hmmm, not sure where to go. Kinda like a cross between a horrible reality show and deciding what brand clothes to buy. Abercrombie or Hollister. My gawd they are sooooooooo different.
