Need a few pictures - 68 FB

I've got a few misc wiring and body assembly questions and have the body and electrical nearly done and hate buying the Osborne manuals for a couple questions. Particularly since I have 3 or 4 other manuals and I hate using them because I can't seem to see past the huge Osborne watermarks.

Descriptions would be nice, pictures even better. When I get home I'll post pics of my own if its unclear what I'm talking about.

-hood turn signals. How is the wiring attached underside of the hood? I have the wiring and clips, but don't know how they all go. I found this pic but my T/S harness has a black clip with a screw hole opening taped to it such that it would screw down on the apron or the cowl. Different location than the ground wire that screws to the cowl. Also, I need to drill the hole for the ground wire on the cowl, is this the correct location for that in this picture?

-taillight harness. where the taillight harness connects to the underdash harness on the driver side, I have a single wire that I'm pretty sure is black with blue stripe, which would be a courtesy lamp circuit, and I can't find a matching connection under the dash.

-bumper to body bolts. I can't find my AMK baggy with the bumper to body bolts so I'm digging through my pile of original pieces. I found some that appear to be it by thread size, but they are much longer than necessary to attach the bumper. I also seem to remember these using large flat washers, but don't remember if they also used a lock washer on top of the flat washer.

-fuel sender wiring clips to body. My car originally had a plastic channel, maybe 12 or 15" long, that screwed to the body near the gas tank opening that the fuel sender wire attached to. That piece of metal got replaced so I don't know where the screw holes go. Also, I'm converting to dual exhaust and the AMK kit came with 2 little plastic wire clips for the fuel sender wire with dual exhaust. If I should be using the little clips instead of the plastic channel, I need to know where to drill the holes for the clips or if they use the same holes the gas tank screws go through.

I'm sure I will need more but this is it for now.

Sam,
Sorry but it looks like I can't help you regarding pics for any of your questions for my hood is not installed, no bumpers installed, haven't finished up wiring to the tank......

But still have a question:

Bumper to body-Do you mean bumper to support brackets or support brackets to frame rail or brackets to front fenders?

Ah, good point Craig. I meant rear bumper, the bolts that are in the trunk that go through to the brackets inside the bumper.

Here is my hood harness. Down near the hinge there is a plastic fitting taped to the harness, but I don't know where that is supposed to be screwed down at.

Taillight harness at the dash harness. Single female fitting pointing down is the one I can't find the matching connector for.

In the second picture, the black female with black/blue wires is a courtesy lamp feed, probably for door lamps (optional) or some other optional item. More often than not, it is not used.

Randy, that's right, as far as I can tell its for the fastback quarter courtesy lamps. Unless you are saying that's a feed for yet another lamp. I've got to recharge the battery, but once I have juice I'll see if that feed is hot. I was looking at it as if I needed to supply power to that for the courtesy lamps.

That plug can be used for a variety of reasons, and a FB 1/4 lamp seems appropriate. It will be hot under two conditions:
1. Door is open
2. Headlamp switch rotated all the way over for courtesy lamps.

And just to clarify what we're looking at, as that pigtail goes up vertically it goes into the cloth wrapped harness that goes back to the taillights. So my assumption was that the female plug there is on the bulb side of the circuit and I needed a supply side from under the dash.

Here are a couple picture of the rear bumper bolts. Wish I had thought to put a ruler down so you could get the scale. I believe there is some black tar like substance they put between the washer and body to seal them.

John, Those look small but since it is so hard to tell by pic. I just pulled one out of shag as shown below. Maybe they're not original but they fit perfectly.

Craig, that's what I was thinking in my description above. The black gooey stuff should be a caulk of sorts, I have a grey caulking cord I'm using, although I think originally it was black.

I'm a dummy. I already have the Osborne interior and electrical assembly manuals.

Found the turn signal stuff, that's done.

Found the pigtail I needed on the main harness, but I still have an issue... two female plugs. I have enough old extra harnesses laying around that I was able to fab up a male/male/female connection and have power to all my courtesy lamps on the driver side, but I should not have had to do that. I'm still missing something in how I have it hooked up.

Found the fuel sender diagrams in the manual, but it doesn't exactly specify which holes to use. Since the panel in front of the gas tank was replaced, I'm hesistant to trust the repro to be drilled correctly. We'll see once I get the tank installed.

Sam,
If you are talking about how to afix the fuel sending wire to that front panel that is along the front of the gas tank, I just did mine a couple days ago. Look at NPD's 372046-S (Retainer, fuel sender wire on front trunk flange) $2 ea.

that's it, I already have the clips, but the tank isn't installed yet. I'm waiting on some "tank tone" from eastwood to shoot on the new tank before it goes in. I wasn't sure if those clips attach to the screws that hold the tank in, or if they use their own hardware. Once the tank is in I'm sure it will be more readily apparent.
