Need some suspension and brake advice

Ok, without searching for weeks, Im gonig to be restoring the suspension and brakes on my 69 this winter. I would like to look back on this thread and get my parts. Is handles and stops TERRIBLE! I want power disc put in ans size doesnt matter as Ill be putting 17" rims on it. Also dont want to spend too much over $1,000 to start. So this is what I need:

1. disc brake suggestions. Want something nice looking and good performing for at least the front for now. Maybe bullitt 13" fronts?

2. Shock recomendations. Thinking of goin with kyb gr2.

3. Spring recomendations.

4. Any good and cheap way to convet to power brakes?

5. Are stainless braided lines worth it?

6. Rear suspension upgrades?

I know Ill be doing the shelby drop and putting in roller perches. Mainly want ti to handle and stop really well but hook up good at the track too.

Not sure on what the prices are, but Shaun @ street or track has some pretty bad@$$ looking disc brake kits. There is also the Mustang Steve brackets if you can source some PBR calipers from a local junkyard.

I would suggest saving up and bypassing the GR2's, chances are you'll want to swap them. I swapped mine for the Bilsteins that Shaun had on sale a while back, glad I did.

What exactly did you notice going from the gr2's to the bilsteins?

The car reacts better with the bilsteins. Bumps in the road are much less harsh. Its not that the GR2's are "bad", if you search around on here you'll see a few people have switched away from the GR2's. I think I have a set new in the box on the shelf in the garage, I can't recall if they are front or back shocks, if you want they are yours for the cost of shipping.

CSRP has a couple quality disc kits to choose from. Power isn't really a necessity, but only you can decide if you want it. I like the manual CSRP discs on my '67. The kit came with everything needed, aside from hardlines, and it works perfectly. I've yet to find the fade point, and I drive my car hard.

Mustang Steve has a couple late model brake swap options that you might also look into, seeing as you're going with 17" wheels. Late model Cobra brakes are a popular choice.

For the suspension, how often do you drive the car, and how do you want the car to ride and handle? Do you want it to be stiff and corner well, or do you want it to be more of a comfortable daily driver? Something in between? With a $1k budget for suspension and brakes, you're not going to get a car that handles well AND rides well. Better shocks will improve ride quality without sacrificing performance, but they do cost more.

Don't overlook adding sub frame connectors. They will make a huge difference in the car. It is a must in my opinion.
